This week on the Life Science Success Podcast my guest is Jitendra Pant.  He is an experienced Researcher with 13+ years of expertise in Clinical and Translational Research, Biocompatible Invasive Biomedical Devices, In vitro Biology, FDA approved Immunotherapeutic (Cancer and Autoimmune disorders), Bioprocess Development, Antibacterial, and Antithrombotic Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering applications, Macro and Microencapsulation technology for making artificial pancreas for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) treatment.  He is also an entrepreneur and 2x TEDx Speaker.

Jitendra Pant

The speaker Dr. Jitendra Pant is a cell culture & bioprocess development expert and two times TEDx speaker with 13 years of experience in both industry (biotech) and academic research that has resulted in 23 publications, one book chapter, 7 patent applications (USPTO) with more than 750 citations (h index=16) in 40 countries. Dr. Pant has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Georgia (valedictorian) and 3.5 years of postdoctoral experience including Beta-Cell Therapy research at the prestigious University of Michigan.

Dr. Pant has 6 years of industrial experience in Biopharma including bioprocess development of world's first anti-CD6 mAb (Itolizumab) and world's first biosimilar of trastuzumab (Canmab) at BIOCON-both of which are now FDA approved. Dr. Pant has served as PI and Co-I for NIH and CDC funded grants. Dr. Pant serve as the Editorial member of 5 STEM journals and has been as a reviewer for 60 reputed journals. He is a recipient of >30 national and international awards including UGA40u40, BITS-Pilani 30u30, BMES Award, Georgia Bioinnovation Award, Brahma P Verma Award, NSF REU mentor awards and have been acknowledged by ex-Director of CDC Dr. Redfield for his work on overcoming antibiotic resistance. He is currently as the Global Director of Research and Innovation at Caron Products where he leads the New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Improvement (EPI).
